People deal with failure in different ways. Some fail, and give up. Some fight on blindly. Some learn from their mistakes, and give it another go.
Sometimes people fail, and it isn’t even their faults.
Others that fail and it go straight to their heads, which in turn, causes a disaster for the overall task. Cadel Evans did this at the Vuelta. After his puncture, where two Shimano Neutral Support Team members couldn’t swap a wheel, Evans lost a ton of time. He mentally cracked after that. While lacking the support of a proper team also hurt his come back attempt, there wasn’t much he was going to be able to do. I don’t believe he would have been able to battle back on his own anyways, but he did show his resilliancy at the Worlds Championships. Out of no where he busted out at the end to take the rainbow jersey. I believe this is a sign of things to come from Evans. As long as he can keep his head on straight, I think he could be a Grand Tour champion some day soon. Now that he has the support of a proper team, I think he will be able to thrive as he has been unable to consistantly in the past.
Failure is what you make of it. When life gives you lemons, make some killer lemonaide!
